Here you are again, Shadow

What do you do when...

You can't, with any sense of self pride or dignity, attach your name to a group project? We were assigned to write a song to the rhyme scheme of Yankee Doodle that ridicules Saddam Hussein. I won't even post what my dear tablemates came up with, it is simply too horrific. I wrote a new one, but I don't know if the teacher is going to accept mine, since it was supposed to be a group project. Ick. Plus, I can't really argue my points very effectively, since tomorrow is the Day of Silence at school. Sigh. That will be fun, though, I think. Except for the people who give me garbage over it.
Parent-teacher-student conferences went pretty well. Nothing very exciting. I'm a bit sleepy. I leave for CA in four weeks from today!

Prom

The past 27 hours have felt like one of those really extended airplane days. You know, it just keeps going and going and never has an end. Prom was overrated, but I'm glad I went. The music was pretty awful, but dancing with Gina, Adam, Nick, Trisha, Bre, Thor and Crystal was fun. I liked the free drinks. (Soda, people!) I liked my dress but the majority of the other people had much fancier ones. (Shrug) Ah well. I was really glad that I didn't pay any money for mine. It seems like such a waste.
Post prom was a lot more fun. I won a black and blue gym/duffle bag, and there was lots of free food. I'm always up for people who want to feed me soda, gummy bears, chex mix, and pizza. I find it entertaining that the school-sanctioned post-prom had blackjack tables set up as the primary source of entertainment.
Terry and I went to post post prom at Ben's house after he won a portable DVD player at the Y. I slept on the floor of Ben's basement and it was rather uncomfortable, but it was nice and dark and quiet. I finally got up to leave at around 13:00 today, and Terry and I went to Perkins. It was nice. Now though, all I want to do is sleep.
